Concrete Ready Mix Packaging Machinery

As part of my previous work experience I designed, developed and coordinated the manufacturing of these cement packaging and processing machines. These machines would pack 50Kg or 20Kg bags of cement or tile adhesive to be sent to a palletising machine and then be prepared for shipping. The machines were all locally manufactured with installations taking place all across Southern Africa.

Warehouse Conveyor

I was tasked with designing a conveyor solution for a parcel sorting and distribution warehouse. The parcels enter the conveyor on the left and then have their barcodes read before being weighed and dimensioned. They then get sorted according to their destinations (Cape Town, Port Elizabeth etc) and get moved onto a different conveyor for that dispatch area. If there is a misread of a barcode there is built in redundancy and the parcel will return back to the loading area.

The conveyor was part of a proposal for an entire warehouse and office combination for a future Takealot project. It consisted of over 6000 parts and took two weeks to design and do all the renders.

Protea RDA (Vape Atomizer)

I designed and marketed this RDA (Rebuild-able Dripping Atomizer) as a personal project with the aim of having it be mass produced in China. I received positive feedback from a few manufacturers in China and look forward to potentially one day having it come to market.

It is a detailed and intricate design which has to take into account the airflow, e-liquid storage, electrical flow and ergonomics for ease of use. Typically manufacturers have their in house designers come up with new designs, which allowed me to gain valuable knowledge on ways in which I can redesign it to fit within their profit margins and I hope to soon have another version to present to them with some tweaks.

22R Intake Manifold

This was another project I really enjoyed, a friend of mine needed an intake to fit a set of weber 40 side draft carburetors to his engine, it needed to fit inside the engine bay with a very small amount of clearance, leading to the short runner design. It also needed to provide coolant flow to the thermostat and house the thermostat for the coolant system. It blocks off the coolant flow to the heater core, as he elected to remove the unit entirely.

CPU Water Block

A custom water cooling CPU Cooler I designed in my free time to cool AMD processors in desktop computers.

Entrance Gate

An entrance gate I designed that has many different alternative designs for them to see what look they preferred.

Branded Jumps

Some branded custom upright designs I did for some horse show jumps.

I have attained my N5 Certificate in Multi-Disciplinary-Drawing Office Practice with distinction.

I’m an aspiring Draughtsman with experience in Inventor, EPLAN Electric P8, Revit, AutoCAD, Solidworks and Fusion 360. I enjoy working on mechanical projects and aim to end up in R&D for automotive parts and accessories. I have experience dealing with manufacturers in China with regards to selling product designs that I have worked on. I strive to continuously learn and further my knowledge and experience in the fields of mechanical and electrical design. I am excited to further my portfolio with more projects in the future.
